Introduction

There are two Archdioceses, four Dioceses and one Prefecture in Pakistan. All these are under the pastoral care of an
Archbishop/Bishop. The Archbishops/Bishops of the Dioceses constitute the supreme body called the “Pakistan Catholic Bishops’ Conference (PCBC)”.

PCBC is the legal holder of all the educational and non-educational
institutions serving under the umbrella of PCBC established National Catholic Education Commission (NCEC) , as a national legal body, for the promotion of education, whose object comprises to take care of all needs and interests of Catholic Educational Institutions in Pakistan and of their personnel and pupils. Each Diocese has its own Catholic/Diocesan Board of Education (CBE/DBE) in order to manage the schools serving under Roman Catholic Church.

NCEC caters the needs of educational institutions of seven dioceses of Pakistan with schools numbering around 350 with 11000 teachers and 150,000 students approximately. The NCEC plans and promotes its Educational endeavors through Catholic/ Diocesan Boards of
Education.
