His Grace Archbishop Sebastian Francis Shaw

His Grace Archbishop Sebastian Francis Shaw was born in Padri-Jo-Goth, Sindh Pakistan on 14th November 1957. He completed his studies at Fatima High School and studied at the Government Degree College.
He received his religious training under the Order of Friars Minor and at the Christ the Kings Seminary in Karachi and was ordained a priest in Lahore, Pakistan on 6th December 1991. Before joining the Franciscans, he was a teacher.
He was rector of the Juniorate and Postulancy of Darul Naim in Lahore from 1991 until 1995, taught at St. Mary’s Minor Seminary, Lahore and has also been Provincial of the Order of Friars Minor in Pakistan.
On 14th February 2009, Pope Benedict XVI appointed him Auxiliary Bishop of Lahore. Archbishop Shaw was consecrated as Bishop at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Lahore, on 25th April 2009. Archbishop Shaw holds a Master of Science degree in Guidance and Counselling from De La Salle University in Manila.
On 27th October 2013, His Holiness Pope Francis appointed Archbishop Shaw as a Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue member. Pope Francis appointed him Archbishop of Lahore on Nov. 14, 2013, on his 56th birthday.
On 1st June 2016, Pakistan Catholic Bishops’ Conference (PCBC) appointed Archbishop Shaw as the Chairman of the National Catholic Education Commission (NCEC).
