Catholic Board of Education Lahore
The
Catholic Board of Education Lahore is a registered body with the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies, Lahore Region, Lahore (vide No. S-27/LR of 1967-68 dated 27-09-1967). The Archbishop is the Chairman of the Catholic Board of Education.
Supreme Supervisory Body
The Catholic Board of Education acts as the Supreme Supervisory Body for all Catholic Educational Institutions in the Archdiocese of Lahore. The Board consists of 15 permanent members who meet twice a year to discuss and evaluate educational matters and make decisions on major policy matters, especially regarding provincial/federal Governments.
Quality Education and Policy Coordination
The Board devises ways and means to ensure the best quality education in the educational institutions within the Archdiocese. It also coordinates the activities and policies of all educational institutions within the Archdiocese through their Governing Bodies/Managing Committees.
Executive Committee
The Board has an Executive Committee consisting of five members. This committee meets once every two months to grant scholarships to students for higher and technical education and to address urgent educational issues within the Archdiocese.
School Management and Subsidization
There are about 90 English and Urdu medium schools run by the
Catholic Board of Education. Most schools in rural areas are subsidized by the Catholic Board of Education to maintain staff salaries and day-to-day running expenses due to their low fee structure.
Teacher Development and Infrastructure
The Board is responsible for arranging Continuous Professional Development for teachers working in the educational institutions. It also oversees the construction and renovation of school buildings.
